Lofoten Skimo 2026 is a ski mountaineering race set in the breathtaking Lofoten Islands,
the first of three races in The Arctic Triple. The event features two distances:
the 4000+, an extreme 32 km course with 4000 metres of elevation gain,
and the 1000+, a 12 km route with over 1000 metres of elevation gain.
Athletes traverse multiple mountain peaks before descending into Svolvær.
The 4000+ starts in Morfjord, winding through dramatic ridges and summits,
while the 1000+ begins at Vestpolleidet, leading to the peak of Rundfjellet.
Both routes finish at Svolvær square, after swapping skis for running shoes on the final stretch.
Taking place annually in week 11, during Lofoten's iconic fishing season,
the event offers a full Arctic experience. The race is fully supported and marked,
with designated aid stations along the way.
Challenge yourself in one of the world's most breathtaking ski mountaineering races – Lofoten Skimo 2026.
