Questions and answers

When is Lofoten Skimo 2027?

Lofoten Skimo 2027 is on 19–20 March 2027, in week 11. The race itself is on the Saturday, and Sunday is kept free as a back-up day if the weather is bad. The race is held in week 11 every year, so the edition after is on 17–18 March 2028.

How long is Lofoten Skimo?

There are two distances. The 4000+ is about 32 km with roughly 4 000 metres of climbing, from Morfjorden to Svolvær, with a 12 hour limit. The 1000+ is about 12 km from Vestpolleidet to Svolvær, with a 7 hour limit, and is a good first skimo race.

Which rules and equipment apply?

The race follows ISMF rules, and the course is marked the ISMF way: green flags going up, pink flags going down. The full gear list is in the race manuals.

Do I need to speak English?

Yes. English is the race language, and every athlete has to understand and speak it. Briefings, markings and safety calls are all in English, and anyone who clearly cannot follow them is refused a start.

What does it cost, and where are the results?

Prices change with the registration window, so the current ones are on the registration page. Results and course records are on live.thearctictriple.no.
