Which distances are there?
100 miles (165 km, about 7 000 m of climbing) from Kirkefjorden, 50 miles (88 km) from Leknes, 48 km from Torvdalshalsen, 24 km from Gimsøy and 12 km over Tjeldbergtinden. Every distance finishes on the square in Svolvær. There is also a 1 km kids race.
Is it a UTMB Index race?
Yes. Lofoten Ultra-Trail is a UTMB Index race and gives ITRA points.
Do I need a headlamp?
Usually not for the light. The race is held under the midnight sun at the end of May, and it does not get dark in Lofoten at that time of year. Check the mandatory gear list in the race manual for your distance all the same.
Can I run it as a team?
Yes. Lofotstafetten, the relay, uses the same course for teams of 2 to 10. There is also the Stage Run, which covers about 100 km in four days with beds and food included.
Do I need to speak English?
Yes. English is the race language, and every athlete has to understand and speak it. Briefings, markings and safety calls are all in English, and anyone who clearly cannot follow them is refused a start.
What does it cost, and where are the results?
Prices change with the registration window, so the current ones are on the registration page. Results and course records are on live.thearctictriple.no.
